RAYMOND, NH (October 5, 2016):
In an effort to preserve lives and reduce overdose related deaths all officers of the Raymond Police Department recently received training and certification in the administering of Nalaxone (Narcan) and carry it with them while on patrol. The Raymond Police Department and Raymond Ambulance deployed NARCAN at a recent overdose call.
On October 3, 2016 Raymond Police and Ambulance responded to a residence on Sesame St. in reference to a male subject who had overdosed. Upon arrival Corporal Shevlin and Officer Frotton assessed the situation and administered Narcan through the subject’s nasal passage.
Upon arrival of Raymond Ambulance an intravenous dosage of Narcan was administered. The male subject became responsive and was transported to the Exeter Hospital for medical treatment.
Currently this year Raymond Detectives have investigated five (4) deaths attributed to Heroin / Fentanyl overdoses and have responded to many more overdose related calls.
