4/18/2016 Compliance Checks

RAYMOND, NH (April 15, 2016):  Chief David Salois reports the results of a joint Alcohol Compliance Check conducted April 14, 2016 on retail establishments in Raymond selling alcohol.

This joint effort with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission’s Division of Enforcement and Licensing underscores our continued commitment in keeping young people within our community safe.  This includes checking to make sure minors are not able to purchase alcohol from local businesses. Last night officers and volunteer underage buyers attempted to purchase alcohol at the following establishments.  The underage buyers used their own licenses and answered any and all questions asked of them by the clerks truthfully.

Here is a list of the establishments that did not sell to underage buyers.

American Legion

Cork N’ Keg Grill

Gordo’s Burritos and Taqueria located

Louie’s Pizza and Italian Grill

Pizza by George

Strikers East Bowling Center

Supreme House of Pizza

7 Eleven

Circle K

Down Town Convenience Store

Hannaford Food & Drug

Phillips 66

Rite-Aid Pharmacy

Tuckaway Tavern

Shell Gas

One establishment, Mr. Gas, sold the underage buyers alcohol resulting in the clerk being cited for violating NH RSA 179:5 Prohibited Sales.   (http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/xiii/179/179-5.htm).

The Police Department would like to thank the store employees that took a moment to identify the volunteer as underage. Checking a customer’s identification helps keep the entire community safe. Job well done!
